Automotive journalists have touted the Porsche 996 Turbo as one of the most drivable super cars on the road. Its performance numbers are incredible. Yet, its ease of use make it a great daily driver option. Talking with countless Porsche mechanics, they all agree that these Turbos are among the most reliable motors (the famous Mezger engine) that Porsche has ever built. A handful of these Turbos came optioned with the X50 power kit, which added a (conservative) 30+ hp. The X50 package was an $18k option, which produces 444hp/457lb ft. torque. 0-62mph time is 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 193mph. This package includes upgraded turbo chargers, air intake cooler, electronic control unit, exhaust system and a strengthened transmission.

This Porsche was built in July of 2003 and sold new on September 28th, 2003 by Hoehn Motors of Carlsbad, CA. Although the Turbo models come very well equipped with many standard items that are usually options, this particular example was further ordered with the following:

The first owners lived in North San Diego County. They kept the car 3-years/6k-miles before trading in back into the selling Porsche dealer. The 2nd owner kept the car for 11 ½ years before selling it with just shy of 20k-miles in January of this year. During this owner’s care, it appears all services were performed by the same selling Porsche dealer. This includes the following:

This last service was performed by TLG Auto in North Hollywood.

Although this Turbo was not driven a lot, it was obviously well cared for and regularly serviced. Of course, it was always garaged and never abused. The exterior looks stunning and near new. The paint is all original and verified with a paint meter (see pics). There are minimal flaws (see photos). The glass is all original and looks great with no cracks, chips, or significant blemishes. The wheels have no curb rash and are wrapped in near new Pirelli PZero tires. The brakes are also at near full life. The hydraulic rear wing operates properly. The left rear tail light lens has two superficial cracks, which are very common among wide body 996 tail light lenses. All the exterior lights work great.

The interior is equally as perfect with minimal signs of use as well. The leather seats have no cracks or tears. The bolsters look perfect. The headliner also looks great. The carpet and door panels have no blemishes and look new. The dash has no cracks or shrinking of the leather. All the gauges work properly including the interior lights, A/C, and upgraded stereo (original radio included).

This X50 Turbo drives fantastic. It accelerates smoothly with zero effort. The transmission shifts with ease and there is no slipping or issues with 2nd gear pop-out. The brakes are tremendous and not only have retina-detaching stopping power, but they seem to never show signs of use. This is basically a near new 15-year old super car at about a third of its original cost.

California registration is current and passes CA’s strict emissions/smog test.

This turbo includes an extra key, original radio, owner’s manuals, original maintenance book, collapsible space saver spare, tools, air compressor, car cover, and jack.
